What we're after: After we launched the presidential map, we added a reaction box below the feature. This was to verify whether users were able to find the feature (in addition to the use of google page analytics) and gauge sentiment and reactions. The reaction box was available for approximately 3 months. Now we need to synthesize the responses and use that as one metric to prioritize future enhancements.

Takeaways:

  • List 3rd party candidates (4)
    • "Where are the other parties? By only showing Republicans and Democrats you are creating bias in the election."
  • Fundraising figures look out of date or incorrect (3)
    • "Doesn't appear to updated." "State fundraising in the candidate profiles are inconsistent with the fundraising on the map."
  • Would like comparisons by party (2)
    • "Why wasn't it separated by party for comparison."

Other takeaways to consider:

  • Too much information (3)
    • "All I want to know is how much in total each party and each presidential candidate has raised so far." "Why are you showing anything that has names like Yang, Booker, Warren. Only two names matter now."
  • Incomplete list of candidates (3)
    • "A list of all registered presidential candidates." "Does not really make a comparison of the actual presidential candidates, apart from the parties as a whole."
  • More information or greater analysis (2)
    • There isn't enough clarity as to the amount of funds that are being dispersed to what candidates. It's just combined and not broken down into % per candidates."
  • Want quick access to contributors (2)
    • "Want to find a list of high campaign contributors."
