Summary

What we're after:
We are getting the Requests for Legal Consideration page at https://transition.fec.gov/law/legalconsideration.shtml off of transition.

Completion criteria

  • Do a word document to organize page content and circulate to content team and Policy, Enforcement, Audit and RAD.
  • Create the page as child page of legal resources, with a resource page template
  • Second pair of eyes before publishing
  • Publish the page
  • Update the link on the Policy page
  • Add page and any PDFs uploaded to redirect spreadsheet (we created a separate ticket, Migrate Request for Legal Consideration PDFs to CMS and make accessible #4158, for the PDF work)

Content team provided input on a draft format for each request that will be posted the page:

Currently in the process of building out the rest of sections on the page (Policy Statement, Submit a Request) and I will schedule a meeting with page owners.

Met with stakeholders + @dorothyyeager and @kathycarothers to discuss the current state of this page. Take-aways and action items:

  • Stakeholders believe that visitors to our website are more likely to visit this page to learn about the program, rather then look up an existing request. Action item: move the Submit a request section above the Requests, below the introduction.
  • Move the policy statement into the introductory paragraph, remove Policy Statement section.
  • Specify that this page is designed only for filers working with RAD and Audit by adding a sentence to the introductory paragraph (in bold) AND the parent page, Policy and other guidance.
  • Make better use of the introductory paragraph space. Remove the "read next" section or move the policy Statement into the read next section. (unfortunately it's not possible to remove the "read next section". Action item: Provide a document to stake holders to red line the text.
  • Request block:
    • Distinguish Audit related requests from RAD driven requests.
    • Documents/Citations: use a two column table Document on left, Citation on right, use a column width that visually makes sense and remains responsive.
    • Link to audit for requests generated from audit. For requests generated by RAD, link to the committee profile page or directly to the RFAI.
  • Make the email address a clickable link with with an email icon.

Incorporated feedback into the drafts. Distributed word and PDF views of the pages to the group of stakeholders for review. No specific deadline, but I will follow up if I don't get language consensus by the end of the week.

Incorporated final changes from the stakeholders and content team. I'm building out the remainder of the "Previous requests" section and the page will be ready for re-distribution to the Content team.

Built out the remainder of the requests using the existing links to documents. Sent to Content team for final review before publication.
