What we're after:
As a journalist, I need to be able to find the most up-to-date newly filed reports.

Background:
Currently the reports are split into 2 categories: raw vs processed. We have received feedback that users are not able to get to newly filed reports because they don't know to click on raw data.

Completion criteria:

  • Research the business logic and rules for Raw vs Processed data
  • Find previous design/UX research that went into the Raw vs Processed filings
  • Schedule meeting to discuss the business logic and rules
  • Have a meeting to discuss the business logic and rules
  • Content: Review "Raw" language for possible improvements
  • Design mock-ups based on discussions of business logic and rules meeting

We held our meeting to go over the business logic a bit, as well as discuss what we're hoping to achieve for this ticket and we came away with the following:

  • Front-end design solution. So that people will understand there’s something else that they may be interested in.
    • How does the proposed solution impact the election pages?
    • How does the proposed solution impact the candidate/committee profile pages?
  • Possible next step following design update - Content review
    • What do folks need to know in addition to what’s already provided that makes it more clear what data is included in RAW filings?

For an alternative to raw, content team would suggest unprocessed. We know that @JonellaCulmer is going to do a bunch of research on this. Content was wondering if it's the word raw that's tripping up users, if they're missing the select data type section... or some another issue altogether.
