purpose of the menu bar icon in macos?

whenever feather is open in macos it places itself in the menu bar. the only options available are "show/hide" and "close" for each opened wallet. close works but show/hide instantly freezes the app, requiring a force quit. i'd like at least an option to hide the icon from the bar, but imo it should be removed completely, don't see the point
