Hello, I noticed that there isn't really a succinct thread anywhere on the lack of use_frameworks support. This Podfile directive is starting to become more necessary. What work (if any) is being done to support it and is it open for contributors? What needs to be done? Thanks!

@passy @jknoxville @mweststrate Pardon for the poke but it seems the community is lost about what's going on with Flipper. Is there any plan for a core maintainer to provide some sort of update about what's going on with the project, what needs to be done for use_frameworks support and so on? I'm sure people would be willing to give back and contribute to the project but at the moment its shrouded in mystery and uncertain whether the project is defunct or what's going on.

Hi @shamilovtim, sorry for the lack of communication from our side! The Flipper OSS version ownership within Meta is unclear at the moment, as it was about to be transferred but it seems to have gotten stuck. Let me try to find out the latest state on that.

There's been progress, but nothing I can share yet :)

@mweststrate Thanks for pushing this through. Expo just dropped support for SDK 45, which was compatible with the version of rn-firebase that didn't require use_frameworks. Anyone forced to upgrade both Expo, RN, and rn-firebase will need to drop Flipper (or rn-firebase) for now.

It's been 4 months. Can we get an update on this ?

For now, you can combine libs that use and not use use_frameworks. One solution how to do that is described here, or another approach is described here. You must modify the examples to your needs depending on your libraries
