Rationale

Aspiring users of Swarm might not have the required Ether in order to interact with Swarm. In order to improve the UX for such users, it is desired that these users don't need Ether before interacting with Swarm. Furthermore, the possibility of earning honey-tokens (anonymously) is of great value for the Ethereum ecosystem as a whole, as honey-tokens can be exchanged into Ether and this Ether can be used to interact with other smart-contracts.

User-Story

As an aspiring user of Swarm, I want to be able to connect to Swarm without the need to buy Ether or Honey-tokens, such that I can use Swarm without interacting with token-sellers and use the received value from Swarm elsewhere in the blockchain ecosystem.

Stable SWAP

Acceptance criteria

  • A node is able to connect to Swarm and download a file without Ether or Honey tokens
  • A node is able to connect to Swarm and have cashed-out Honey tokens without having Ether
