The reference page lists quite a few functions as "internal" but in reality they're a mixture of functions users might interact with (the ..._opts functions) and ones they'll never call (the create_... functions). The function list is already quite long so I think it might be good to change the ones who are truly internal (no user interaction expected) to having @keywords internal and no longer list them in the reference.
