Thanks for providing this very interesting open source project. I just stumbled up on it and I was wondering what would be required to add support for a 3rd party database Backend like Exasol (an analytics in memory DB).

This is a great idea! In addition to traditional on-premises databases, we will also support cloud-based databases like Exasol.
