[GAME] CTD if the ESC key is pressed and held down while trying to load a map

Describe the bug

[CTD] Crash to desktop can occur if the ESC key is pressed and held down while trying to load a map.

Steps to reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. While in the main menu, press and hold the ESC key.
2. Using the Left Mouse Button, open the NEW GAME menu and start a chapter.
   Alternative: Open the LOAD GAME menu and load a previously created savegame instead.
3. Keep holding the ESC key, while the map is loading.

Expected behavior

The game should not crash to desktop during normal play

Additional context

This crash was observed in the default UI while using -nogamepadui as well. (This issue may need to be reopened in the main Entropy : Zero repository for that reason)
