I like to tap capslock to escape and hold for control. Setup this repo
https://gitlab.com/interception/linux/plugins/caps2esc
Config /etc/interception/udevmon.d/keyboards.yaml

- JOB: intercept -g $DEVNODE | caps2esc | uinput -d $DEVNODE 
  DEVICE:
    EVENTS:
