This boils down to upgrading to the latest libwebp.

Example animated WebP image to test on: https://08334865990100544955.googlegroups.com/attach/8c6f234c4ae89d2d/Zipper_animated.webp

Actually, I was started to work on animated WebP support couple weeks ago, but I've been busy recently,so it's not finished yet. I planned to finish it this week, I'll let you know. Thanks.

Hi,
I didn't have enough time to work around animations, it's much harder to show animations on quicklook, it requires different techniques. As I said I don't have time but I will add animation soon if I can. The plugin fails for animated files and I worked on it and now it shows the first frame of animation on both preview and thumbnail. I thought it's better than broken. I hope that helps right now, I let you know when I finished the full solution.

Any chance that animated webp support will ever be added? It doesn't work on Ventura, and I'm not sure if it ever worked before either
