Problem

  • Information that comes from an app should be in quotes so that its clear what is true from the system and what is app supplied information
  • We shouldn't rely on apps to name themselves or accurately name the permissions they are requesting. We should have explicit and standard copy for the permissions being requested so that the app is only providing the reasoning, not being relied on to report on itself
  • We should use a settings link for convenience here
  • It would be nice to have a better backgrounding icon

Proposal

Something like:

Allow "Mail" to run in the background when this device turns on?
Mail will automatically start when this device turns on and run when its window is closed so that it can "send notifications when new mail arrives". Permissions can be changed in [Application Settings…]

[Deny] [Allow]
