When I play message A on the web and click play on message B before A finishes, it returns to play A when I'm finished with B. This is not the correct behaviour. If user decides to play another message whilst another one was paused, it should just play this message without doing anything else when it ends
Note that A is sent before B chronologically

No, I think that is a different bug - this issue talks about interrupting of the playback of one message, the other doesn't seem to suggest that anything like that happened
