Steps to reproduce

the dark grey bar on the left of the room list has disappeared and been replaced with the 'mark as unread' dot.

the mark as unread dot should only appear after user action - it should not replace the grey lines.

also, when marked, new activity in a room that would normally give a grey line would supercede the green dot (remove it and apply the line)

Marked this as a release blocker as i would rather release without the mark as unread feature than release it with this bug :)
