Login goes nowhere after successful SSO auth #4129
Comments
Here’s a video. Happens on cellular and multiple WiFi networks. IMG_0385.MP4 |
I’m guessing this will magically “fix itself” some time in the future, I’ll just revisit Element later. Closing |
I have the same problem. Why close? I think this is a very important issue. Please reopen it so that the developers can know about it and hopefully fix it soon. |
Okay. Will re-open for you |
Thank you, not just for me, but for all the users that use this feature. :) |
Same. With Google as SSO |
I've been experiencing the same issue, which is rather annoying as at one point I logged out trying to fix a different issue - I either have to use my laptop or Safari to access Matrix instead of the app |
I have the same issue with Firefox Account SSO. This was working fine for me before with Mozilla's SSO. |
Same issue. I think I'll switch to a matrix server that doesn't require SSO, because this is a showstopper. |
+1 for this issue, also with Mozilla as my homeserver. I was able to log into my dedicated Matrix account for Mozilla before, but not anymore. My Matrix.org account works just fine, with both password login and GitHub SSO login. |
I've also got this issue on iOS 14.7 |
Still happening here too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We’ve since moved on and cancelled our EMS account, if this is a dealbreaker for all of you too, you may want to look into doing the same. |
As I'm using Mozilla, this basically means I can't use Matrix on mobile as, since Fluffy is also broken, Safari is my only choice which is rather clunky. I'm basically restricted to using it on Desktop, which isn't great for communication on the go. |
Exactly why we cancelled our EMS lol |
Just FYI for everyone here: I managed to get Mozilla SSO login working on fluffychat iOS by enabling 'Request Desktop Website' under Website Settings. That didn't work with Element, though. |
We're talking about the mobile apps. |
Me too. fluffychat iOS works with Mozilla SSO for me with steps I took. |
I'm on iPad, which defaults to the desktop site - no luck with Fluffy. |
I hope this issue gets some attention soon. |
I dunno, been 3 months of losing paying customers and we haven’t even heard anything from anyone, I wouldn’t bet on it getting attention anytime soon. |
I'm just wondering if nobody at Mozilla uses Apple products. They recently migrated their IRC to Matrix. Since the Mozilla Matrix server seems to support only SSO, it affects a paying customer of a significant size. |
It was also an issue on opensuse.org when I was looking for workarounds |
Describe the bug
Unable to login with SSO on iOS. The login process hangs after clicking “I trust ..”
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Expected behavior
Login, after successful SSO auth.
Smartphone (please complete the following information):
Additional context
I’m guessing this is an API change or something, because my go-to work around was to use an older version, when a recent version caused the app to crash upon SSO. That no longer works.
