Kibana version: 5.1.2

Elasticsearch version: 5.1.2

Server OS version: Ubuntu 16.04

Browser version: Chrome 55.0.2883.87 (64-bit)

Browser OS version: Ubuntu 16.04

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create pinned filters in a visualisation
    bars statuscode kibana

  2. Switch do discovery, and the pinned filters are no longer visible (but are in effect)
    kibana

The pinned filters should be visible in Discovery.

update: after a browser refresh, it worked as desired / expected and I have not been able to replicate the behaviour since... but it did happen at least once exactly as shown in the screenshots... 😕

Sounds similar to #7767. I thought it might be a matter of the pinned filter's index and the discover index pattern being out of sync, but the filter is still visible for me in that scenario (at least in master I don't have a 5.1.2 instance setup atm).

If you get into this state again could you check the browser console for any errors, and record the current URL (which will include the filter state)?
