Meta issue to track additional work to enhance the index data visualizer.

  • Support filters in KQL query bar
  • Preserve selected chart type for fields on refresh (auto and manual)
  • Preserve time picker auto-refresh interval (e.g. if set to Off for large indexes / lots of fields)
  • Adjust distribution chart for the case that there is only one value to display in the 0th-90th percentile
    data_vis_chart
  • Provide an alternative card view to the new table design - for customers with large displays (e.g. TVs in SOC centers) the previous card view provided much more dense information and less white space than the table view. The card view was good at reviewing big indexes and finding the best field/values.
  • Add the ability to pass an index pattern and a list of fields to the data visualizer, so that the view opens filtered to show the supplied list of fields
  • Allow drag selection on the document count chart to apply the selected time range to the view (as in Discover)
  • Use runtime field editor for editing runtime fields in index pattern [ML] Add index pattern management to index Data Visualizer #101316 (7.14)
  • Support display of fields for which a custom label has been set [ML] Add index pattern management to index Data Visualizer #101316 (7.14)
