Customizable timepicker #2758
Comments
Another useful one would be to set a starting date like: "From: DATE until now" |
@raphi that's a good point - we have a From INTERVAL to now but, not from a given date. That could be useful to add to the relative time filter. |
Maybe this is implied, but just being able to remove some of the default options would be very useful. For example, I don't want anyone querying for "year to date" or "last 1 / 2 / 5 years", but anything 7 days or less is fine. Just being able to disable the undesirable ones would be cool. |
@cwneal actually to expand on that, it'd be great if the timepicker can enforce a max limit on the time interval too. So not just a "disabled" option but an outright hard limit on anything you can do in kibana. |
+1 Use case: Filter out specific time ranges (maintenance windows) from the selected time range. Currently, the user will have to write a query string or DSL style query to filter out ranges. For business users/executives, it will be helpful to provide this as part of a customizable timepicker where they can add range(s) to filter out, etc.. |
An inverse of what @ppf2 mentioned is allowing to show discontinuous time series only focusing on specific business hours (e.g. 9-4pm trading hours). Otherwise, time series graphs show long periods of flat lines, taking up valuable horizontal real estate. |

+1. My users are asking for this, too. They put a lot of time into drilling down to the time of the incidence, and it would be a big help for them. |
+1. I would like Last 48 hours option! Last 15 minutes |
Last quarter is a prime example, but I'm sure there are others. Basically anything that's not simply
now-X
.It might also be nice to allow users to specify important time definitions for them, and save them as shortcuts
This is an extension of #2659
