split chart with no data doesn't render

if using a split chart sub bucket and your query didn't return result response handler crashes and chart doesn't get rendered

• create a line chart
• add a date histogram
• add split chart on terms: geo.src
• click play, you should see a chart at this point
• add a filter: geo.src:something ... you will still see previous chart (filter won't apply)
• in console you can see an error (which differs between versions of kibana)
