Make tile map source configurable #1902
Comments
It is currently hardcoded to mapquest because it is the only tile server that doesn't require an API key. We plan to make this configurable in the future. |
I would also really appreciate to have an option to use the old simple country-map from Kibana3. This would be really useful in offline-environments with no connection to internet-map-severs. |

For testing purposes, there are a lot of available options for WMS servers.

I miss the nice grayscale vector maps from Kibana 3 for simple geo visualizations. Any chance of bringing that back? |

While support for full-featured WMS-map-servers is great, but it seems a bit overkill for smaller offline-deployments. I've struggled for a few days now trying to set up my own WMS-server with data from openstreetmap. The ability to just specify a path to an mbtiles-file or somthing would be much simpler. |
looks like now mapquest requires a key. what is the way to configure map source this in kibana 4 ? if possible with key ? |
follow this link for more updates about tiles map. looks like now mapquest requires a key. |
Leaflet supports lots of other maps, so would be great if the map source was a config item rather than hardcoded to Mapquest. Leaflet also supports WMS, would be good to make this a config option too.
