Kibana version: 6.2.2

Elasticsearch version: 6.2.2

Server OS version: Windows Server 2012

Browser version: Chrome

Browser OS version: Windows 10

I have a little problem with the beavior of Kibana visualize. I will try to explain it and excuse me for my bad english in advance.

I usually use bar chart aggregate per week or month. For example like this...
oihuziy

When I click in some bar, the time range change from the first day of this month to the first day of the next month. That's a problem for me, beacuse I obtain data of two months.

Really I need change the behavior to the same range with one millisecond less. Exactly like this...
lllgyew

Someone know... How i could get it?

Reassigning this back to the Visualizations team as they own the filtering / charting capabilities. Likely this should be closed - but I wanted to double check with you all!

I think this is a valid enhancement, the click/filter behavior between in aggs-based visualizations and Lens is the same as described in the issue above but they each render a little different Aggs-Based showing only one bar and Lens still showing two.

Aggs-based

Screen Recording 2023-03-09 at 12 36 26 PM

Correctly renders single bar, thought the time should be one less ms

Lens

ezgif com-optimize

Renders 2 bars with one virtually empty 1ms interval

I'm also not sure the grey endzones should be present even when the end time is changed to Feb 28, 2023 @ 23:59:59.999 since that would be a full month, which seems like a bug if we are using calendar intervals.

Thoughts @markov00?

@nickofthyme I think this is partially due to what we are trying to fix here #153088 and another finding on the way we request the time range window, as discussed in our office hour yesterday.
