Favicon doesn't show on Edge when on localhost

Kibana version: 6.0.0-beta1

Browser version: Microsoft Edge

Description of the problem including expected versus actual behavior:

The favicon for Kibana doesn't show in Microsoft Edge. It doesn't seem to be related to new favicon introduced here: #12774 because it still wouldn't display on 6.0.0-alpha2.
It seems to be able to display it on Cloud, on a 5.x Kibana and it looks to be related to some issues on Edge with localhost websites.

I've tried to access Kibana on another computer in the local network and it displayed the favicon properly on Edge.
It would be nice if any of those other options would fix it, in order to have the Kibana favicon show even on localhost.

In the screenshot the top browser is IE 11 and the lower one is MS Edge.

Closing this issue. The design team is doing housekeeping against our attached tags and closing issues without much recent activity. Feel free to reopen if you still have issues or feel this is in error.


This works on master in IE11 when in a VM mapping to localhost. I don't have a Windows machine, so if someone else on master still sees this as an issue, please reopen.
