Describe the bug:
When I have an index with many documents and I create a Lens visualization with an aggregation such as Percentiles or Median, the axis appear to flicker. Checking the network tab we see a loop of endless bsearch requests.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create an index with many docs. I used the makelogs script node scripts/makelogs -c 100m --url http://elastic:[email protected]:9200
  2. Create a Lens visualization by dragging the Records field (I created a vertical bar)
  3. Change the metric to Median or Percentile
  4. Notice the infinite search requests in the network Tab
