Ability to turn off KQL autocomplete

Describe the feature:
Turn off the drop down menu and edit its contents (in case I want to use it).

Describe a specific use case for the feature:
I can't see the data in the search results when the drop down appears. It never contains anything I need anyway.

Hi @garyjblackwell! Thanks for raising this issue. I'd like to understand a bit more about your request. I understand the KQL suggestions overlap with the data table, making it difficult to see the contents. You mention that the autocomplete suggestions aren't helpful. Can you provide some examples of queries you are using? Are you not generally searching for values in specific fields? If the suggestions were more useful, would you still want an on/off switch to prevent them from showing up entirely? Thanks again for your contribution.

We have stopped using Elastic, but I think what it was, was that the autocomplete included a myriad of unknown fields. That was one of the frustrating things about Elastic was that I had to reverse engineer the fields to search for data. Autocomplete suggests cryptic fields that have no relation to what I want to find and 90% have no data anyway. Also, I had no way of searching for data when I didn’t know the field or if the data was in a message. Be able to turn off the autocomplete would have helped when we were using the product, but now it doesn’t really matter for me. Regards, Gary

Closing this because it's not planned to be resolved in the foreseeable future. It will be tracked in our Icebox and will be re-opened if our priorities change. Feel free to re-open if you think it should be melted sooner.
