Describe the feature:

Annotations for documents.
Like here, https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/apm-annotation-api.html
But I want to be able to right click>add annotation. Not just APM stuff, but to uptime errors, log results found in discovery etc.

Describe a specific use case for the feature:

I get an error in uptime or a log entry in discovery that's interesting. I want to let my team know that it has been seen, what caused it, and what the outcome was of my investigation into it. So I right click on it, select add annotation, add my notes.

Now when my team encounter this, they don't have to redo the work I've done or worry about an error that's already been responded to.

This seems as a discovery enhancement request. Lens supports annotations in charts but if I get the issue correctly this request has to do with adding a note by clicking on the Discover table.
I am moving this to the team.

Closing this because it's not planned to be resolved in the foreseeable future. It will be tracked in our Icebox and will be re-opened if our priorities change. Feel free to re-open if you think it should be melted sooner.
