Gradle 6.5 ships with File-system watching feature that improves incremental build performance. Further details can be found in the Gradle 6.5 release notes: https://docs.gradle.org/6.5/release-notes.html#performance-improvements

For now I've enabled this feature locally on my system and will provide feedback and make a suggestions on enabling this feature by default for all elasticsearch developers after a certain test period of a ~2 weeks
