In the current documentation under Security Setting -> AD-Setting there is a referral to an not existing setting.
https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/7.7/security-settings.html#ref-ad-settings

In the description of the domain_name setting:

If the url and the user_search_dn settings are not specified, the cluster can derive those values from this setting

but user_search_dn isn`t an valid setting, the correct setting is called user_search.base_dn
