FIBO Securities Working Group announcement

We are setting up a new telecon for our Securities (FIBO SEC Content Team) meetings for 2020.

We meet on Mondays from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm EST (from 5:30 to 7:00 pm CET).

Our focus over the last quarter has been on use cases for securities master data management, starting with a simpler subset for instrument data that an exchange might publish for their members. The use case is available at WIKI. It is also being published to the new FIBO web site shortly. Any changes we make will be propagated from the wiki to the web site when we have enough new content to warrant doing so. The use case provides some hints as to where we are in the process of building out examples under the Competency Questions section.

We started with OpenFIGI as a source for examples, and have implemented a few for Wells Fargo common stock. These preliminary examples are including in the Q4 2019 release of FIBO, which is now available for download. The examples are provisional,
available in the FIBO development zip files. Over the coming months, we will be adding to those examples and adjusting the model to support additional properties/market data as we go, including coverage of a wider range of securities for reference for developers implementing knowledge graphs for instrument data (including issuer information).
The examples also form the basis for FIBO training that will be available from the council later this year.
