you really need to make a better read mere here's a better one

Minecraft Essential Unlock all Mod Installation Guide

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

  • Minecraft installed.
  • Fabric Loader installed for your Minecraft version.
  • Essential Mod and ECU Mod files.

Steps to Install the Essential Mod

1. Install Fabric Loader

  1. Download the Fabric installer from Fabric's official website.
  2. Run the installer.
  3. Select your Minecraft version.
  4. Click "Install."
  5. Open the Minecraft launcher.
  6. Select the Fabric profile.
  7. Run the game once to ensure the Fabric loader is correctly installed.

2. Download and Place Essential Mod

  1. Download the Essential mod jar file compatible with your Minecraft version.
  2. Download the ecu-1.4.0.jar file.
  3. Place the Essential mod jar file in the mods folder located in your .minecraft directory.
  4. Run Minecraft with the Fabric profile once. This will create an essential folder inside your .minecraft directory.

3. Modify the Mods Folder

  1. Navigate to your .minecraft directory:
    C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming.minecraft

  2. Open the essential folder.

  3. Find the file named Essential (fabric_1.x.x).jar (the x's represent the version number).

  4. Copy Essential (fabric_1.x.x).jar from the essential folder to the mods folder.

  5. Also, copy the ecu-1.4.0.jar file to the mods folder.

4. Run Minecraft

  1. Open the Minecraft launcher.
  2. Select the Fabric profile.
  3. Run the game. The mod should now be installed and working.

Troubleshooting

  • Crashes: If the game crashes, ensure you have the correct versions of all mods and dependencies. Conflicts with other installed mods can cause issues.
  • Conflicts: If you have a large number of mods installed, there might be compatibility issues. Try running the game with only the Essential mod and ecu-1.4.0.jar to ensure they work correctly before adding other mods.

Additional Tips

  • Backup: Always backup your .minecraft folder before adding or modifying mods.
  • Log Files: Check the latest.log file in the logs folder of your .minecraft directory for any error messages if the game doesn't work as expected.

By following these steps, you should be able to install the Essential mod and the ecu-1.4.0.jar file correctly. Enjoy your enhanced Minecraft experience!

I've been at this for days. I hardly even care about the mod itself; I've moved on entirely to just the principle. I cannot get this to work. I don't have any other mods that aren't just optimization, but I uninstalled all of them to start from scratch and still it doesn't work. Maybe I'm just missing something.

Regardless of whether ECU is installed, the shop operates exactly the same, where you can't equip anything you don't own. I have installed the mod .jar, taken the other .jar out of the /essentials folder and placed it into mods, and tried both ECU and ECU legacy and nothing changes. They are the only mods I have installed right now. Totally unclear of the next step towards a solution. Hope you can provide one.

Edit: After 3 days of trying, merely 10 minutes after I made this post, I got it to work. I'm using 1.20.1 I'll explain how.

If you make the mistake of installing Essentials via the installer, like I did, simply removing the .jar from the mods folder and deleting the Essentials directory isn't enough. Here's what you need to do.

  • Navigate to .minecraft directory
  • Delete "essentials" and/or "essentials_mod"
  • Back out to Roaming and delete gg.essentials.installer and gg.essentials.mod
  • Important part: Open the Minecraft launcher and open your modded profile start-up settings. If you installed the mod via the installer, the default .minecraft directory will have been replaced with a new essentials directory. Delete everything up to /.minecraft and then save it.
  • Download the Essential mod .jar from modrinth
  • Open the essential folder, find the file named Essential (fabric_1.x.x).jar (it may be buried), and drop it into the .minecraft /mods folder.
  • Download ecu-1.4.0.jar
  • Place it into your mods folder.

This should work to solve the issue for anyone experiencing the same thing as me. Really appreciate this unlocker; who the hell wants to pay for that nonsense? You're a king.

Does anyone have any idea how to get this to work where other people with essentials installed on servers can see the unlocked cosmetics? Not sure if this is possible, or if it already supposed to happen and I did something wrong when installing

If you want others to see your cosmetics, you have to buy them.
