In multiple artifacts produced by build of the runtime repo, such as runtime.linux-arm.Microsoft.NETCore.ILDAsm, there are empty PDBs like runtime.linux-arm.Microsoft.NETCore.ILDAsm\runtimes\linux-arm\native\_.pdb.
I found the same issue in packages (the list is not complete):

  • runtime.linux-arm.Microsoft.NETCore.DotNetAppHost
  • runtime.linux-arm.Microsoft.NETCore.DotNetHost
  • runtime.linux-arm.Microsoft.NETCore.DotNetHostPolicy
  • runtime.linux-arm.Microsoft.NETCore.DotNetHostResolver
  • runtime.linux-arm.Microsoft.NETCore.ILAsm

It looks like the _.pdb file is just a placeholder and for some reason is shipped with the product.
