### What is it ??? ###

fanspeed.sh is a script that manage QNAP TS-X09 internal fan speed related to temperatures thresolds. It's designed to be run in a Debian system, but should be capable of running on any Linux based OS.
It's fully GPL, so you can do whatever you want with, but it will keep GPL for ever.

### What are the pre-requisites ? ###

You have to run qcontrol daemon (provided by qcontrol Debian package)
You also need hddtemp and awk commands, easily available in Debian :

### How does it works ? ###

The script checks for HDD temperatures, then, according to the collected values, it will set fan speed regarding the defined thresolds.
All values are on Celsius/Centigrade scale. If the temperature is under the "STOP_TEMP" value, the fan speed is set to "stop", if it's between "STOP_TEMP" and "SILENCE_TEMP", it'll be set to "silence" etc...

The disks list define the disks we will check temperatures of, defaults are :
DISKS="/dev/sda /dev/sdb"

Default temperatures thresolds (can be change in fanspeed.sh) :

STOP_TEMP=30
SILENCE_TEMP=35
LOW_TEMP=40
MEDIUM_TEMP=45
HIGH_TEMP=50
FULL_TEMP=55

### How could I check temperature/fan speed changes ? ###

A very primary log system is included. You can enable it (default) in setting :
LOG=1                   
Also, you can define log file, the default is set to :
LOGFILE=/var/log/fanspeed.log
