Tweet/Idea : Inclusion Rider

This is a great idea for digital preservation too, since our spaces on the surface tend to be a little homogeneous. I wonder if we could write some sort of inclusion rider up people could sign on to speak at conferences etc, and include people of color, nonmale people, people with disabilities, indigenous people, other marginalized people. In that vein, I just saw that the DLF's CfP says

“Manels”–all-male panels–will not be accepted into the conference

Ha! Nice.

I think this is a great idea. We always try for some kind of gender balance at the DPC (all our strategic sub-committee chairs are now women as all the other nominees for the board were men) but it could and should definitely be pushed further.
