allow a topic to be hidden from users

Not all topics may be necessary to display to users, thus, it makes sense to be able to hide topics in the UI. If these topics are leafs or branches, this is pretty easy. If they're in-between the path to another node that's linked to an indicator, we'll need to create a pseudo-relationship that joins these topics together.
