Email notifications (Daily digest style) #326
Comments
Avoid hourly. You'll stress out most SMTP providers that way. Better to provide daily at most, with weekly or monthly as another option. Either do an email for everything or be sane with the digest scheduling is ideal. Also, dispersing digests to be dispatched throughout the day (think of a queue or such) to prevent a flood of emails going out is worth considering. Some hosts will choke down after set rates of sending to prevent abuse. |
Is this going to be configurable per user? A few options in the user Settings page will be good to have. |
How about email notifications when a persons post is replied to and @username mentions. Of course it would have to be configurable by the user. |
Hey @finid, definitely user configurable. I wouldn't have it any other way. Will look into this post 0.3.0 :-) |
