Description

The Regional office page design includes a "Can't find block" which displays the main benefits hotline number and a link to the Facility Locator.

The main VBA Benefits number has a Spanish assistance option accessed by selecting Option #2 twice.

Problems to solve

  • How might we include this in the "Can't find what you are looking for" phone number display for the San Juan VBA locations? (but not for all other Regional office pages)
  • What is the best experience for announcing via screenreader?

Other information

The Content style guide has this guidance:

Use “select” to indicate the menu option after dialing a phone number. Example: Call 988 and select 1.

This is a national phone number and Option 2 (Spanish) is available everywhere, and could be useful for folks outside San Juan.

ACs

  • Selecting 2 twice is tested & verified
  • Finalize copy
    • something like "Select Option 2 twice for assistance in Spanish" but verify with CAIA or existing copy on VA.gov
  • Centralized content is updated with final copy in a Tugboat
  • Accessibility review in Tugboat
  • Copy updated in prod

If you need an interpreter: Call 800-698-2411 and select 0. We’ll connect you with a VA call center agent. Tell the agent that you want a language interpreter to join the call.

Based on the utility of OPtion 2 nationally, this could / should likely be a content change to Centralized Content for ROs, to add Option 2 in that text. When the content change is made, Laura would like to review the Language attribute accessibility.

This is only on RO pages.

"Select Option 2 twice for assistance in Spanish" can be added
Needs to be tested before we add the content.
