Just starts one million and one genservers. That takes approx 1.5Gb RAM in release mode, and 3Gb in shell mode.

It is no speech about an simple thread but about a normal GenServer, that's a little bit more than a thread, isn't it?
So think I that Erlang gives Golang a head start.
