Euan Williams has agreed to be a part of the room. Looks like ti will be a big installation so one artists for a smaller room will work better.

He has got three different ideas (1. paper installation, 2. projection, 3. showcasing a project his and a more "traditional" art project), but needs to see the room before a decision is made. He is currently working on a budget.

Time for meeting with the Factory is 22 Aug at 17.30

Great. I also have a connection to someone involved with Andrzej Nowacki who has an innovative way to represent his art, in connection to the blockchain. I will email

The original idea (papering the textures of the room) is not going to happen due to budget unfortunately. It's a shame it was too expensive because I think it would have been an amazing work in the room, but such is life.

I had a meeting with Euan Saturday evening and we decided on another paper work, which will take up the whole room. It's based around the idea of process and changing a simple thing (in this case a A4 paper) and creating something completely new. To explain it in a short way - it' a room full of paper balls. The participants will be able to interact with it so when walking through it, the sound will aslo resemble the sound when one walks through a pile of dry leaves.

@chrishobcroft This means that the Nowacki works won't fit in the given fine art room. I did speak to Euan about the wooden/resin blocks, but as we can guarantee any coverage for loss or damage he was hesitant to displaying them. The reason is that they have been sold, hence if something happens to one of them there would be lots of troubles for him. I understand and support his decision.

Euan is preparing a budget right now and he knows that the absolutely highest amount that we can guarantee is €1200. The budget will be planned accordingly. It will be uploaded here when I have it.

Re volunteers - @mariapaulafn as you already know he needs some help for the installation/creation. Thanks for putting me in contact with Simon. I will sort it with him.

Installation timings will be discussed with Suia from Factory.

I will have the supporting text ready before I fly out on Friday morning.

Please see file for budget from Euan. Some small explanations below.

  • Paper: Material for the piece
  • Transportation: He’ll need to transport the paper balls from studio/home to Factory
  • Assistant: He is a bit worried about not knowing the volunteers and them not having previous experience within art, thus this is added. Up for discussion I guess
  • Documentation: Euan suggested a GOPro in the room to document the change of the papers during the three days. This would give some nice visuals. Also, up for discussion I guess
  • Misc: Just €5
  • Artist fee: Self explanatory

Image below is a brief sketch of what the room will look like after installation. Please ignore the square shape of it, as it will have a much rounder finish.
