What is the status of the portableapps.com release of WinMerge 2011? Are you or they planning on updating to versions from this new repo?

I am somewhat neutral towards portableapps.com.

WinMerge 2011's approach to run from portable media is to optionally maintain its settings in a .json file.
A so far neglected part of the story is the supplement folder, which I think should then reside on the same storage medium.

Have you been working with them for their build, or have they been working independently?

That's great. Where is that option?

For me, WinMerge 2011's supplement folder is located within WinMerge 2011's folder. Are you experiencing something different? BTW, I'm still using your Bitbucket version, so that might be relevant.

If you create a WinMergeU.json next to the WinMergeU.exe, WinMerge 2011 will use it for its settings.
However, the default setting for the supplement folder is not sensitive to where the settings are stored.
You can adjust it manually though. Among the supplement folder locations suggested under Edit > Options > System, you should find one that reads "%PortableRoot%ProgramData\WinMerge". %PortableRoot% is a placeholder for the root folder of the storage medium where WinMergeU.exe is running from.

They have been working independently.
