Sometimes labels are not explicit enough. Allow for icons to replace or enhance them

Has this been addressed in anyway?
As asked in here:
Is it possible to represent a dat.GUI button with an icon? Alternatively, can a button have a background image? I want to give an intuitive meaning to a "Go Left" button, by showing it as a left arrow.

I don't expect we're likely to add images or icons to this library. I'm open to #4, allowing user-provided controllers, but don't know when I will have time to implement that myself.
