Issue being fixed or feature implemented
In GroveDB we had an issue that is described here: dashpay/grovedb#329
In essence references that pointed to items being updated between epochs would cause the database to become inconsistent.
What was done?
Fixed the issue in GroveDB, added a lot of tests in Platform

The fix in GroveDB is breaking, so this is breaking.
