cancel option in continueOn

Hi,

In the above given image when step2 is failed the step5 and step 6 are cancelled. But in my case any step is failed the step6(means last task) need to be execute.

Is there any option which matches my use case. Can you help me on this?

You can use the continueOn parameter.

Example:

steps:
  - name: step6
    continueOn:
      skipped: true
      failure: true

I tried already that above thing but did not worked for me, and here by attaching yaml code

i used in step4 failure as false but also not worked, can you please share your thoughts on this?

Ah I think I was mistaken. Now I understand the question. That's a bit tricky but one possible way is using tmp file to check the result.

For example:

steps:

- name: step1
  command: echo hello
  output: output

- name: step2
  command: sh
  script: |
    rm /tmp/ret_step2
    echo result=$output
    if [ "$output" == "hello" ]; then
      exit 1
    fi
    echo "ok" > /tmp/ret_step2
  depends:
    - step1
  continueOn:
    failure: true

- name: step3
  command: echo hello
  depends:
    - step1

- name: step4
  command: echo hello
  continueOn:
    failure: false
  depends:
    - step3

- name: step5
  command: echo hello
  continueOn:
    failure: true
    skipped: true
  preconditions:
    - condition: "`cat /tmp/ret_step2`"
      expected: "ok"
  depends:
    - step2

- name: step6
  command: echo hello
  depends:
    - step4
    - step5

And the result should look like this:
