Is there any updates to this? I'm facing this issue right now with my postgres version being 13.

PostgreSQL 13.8 (Debian 13.8-0+deb11u1) on x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, compiled by gcc (Debian 10.2.1-6) 10.2.1 20210110, 64-bit

Having a similar issue - cannot use an external DB. With debug enabled the pod shows:
sha256.c(34): OpenSSL internal error, assertion failed: Low level API call to digest SHA256 forbidden in FIPS mode!
error: no implicit conversion from nil to integer
