Idea: synchronize blinking of objects

It would look a lot nicer if all blinking items were synchronized rather than running on independent timers. Maybe make this optional. Of course this would only really work well if all blinks were only a few seconds long, otherwise an object would take too long to start blinking if it's waiting to sync up.
