[Feature Request] Magazine and Newspaper Support #89
Comments
Could you provide the epub and PDF? I think we should disable auto PDF conversion due to this being a potential issue @crocodilestick |
The .pdf is this: - (its a newspaper issue) the .epub is this: - (a converted jumble) Sorry GitHub doesn't support .epub file uploads. Please let me know how I can turn this conversion off or if I have to wait for a future release. |
Magazines aren't really a supported use case for CWA, especially with the current version. CWA is books first and the pdf conversion is again, aimed at books in pdf format so will never do magazines well. A good feature for future updates may be allowing the user to disable auto conversion for certain formats to support use cases like this but it's not at the top of the list right now |
Was looking for the same thing: an option NOT to convert pdf files, which I would still like to import to my library, but are useless as epub |
That I can do 👍 |
Describe the bug
Importing pdf files into the ingest folder makes cwa convert them into epubs, which scrambles their content and ruins the file.
Expected behavior
A simple import of the files as pdf that can then be seen in the UI and read online.
Configuration(please complete the following information):
Am I doing something wrong? How else do I import pdf files without cwa trying to convert them into epub?
