[ENH] - unformatted openapi.json makes it really hard to review changes

Feature description

OpenAPI.json is unformatted and lives entirely on the first line of the file, meaning that changes to the file are functionally impossible to review. I know this is autogenerated, but it would be nice to instead autoformat this with jq or something so that changes to it can be more easily compared.
