Cannot syncing be done without asking for GET_ACCOUNTS permiission

It seems really unnecessary to ask for contacts just to have sync. Is it possible to Use https://developer.android.com/training/sync-adapters/ without GET_ACCOUNTS.

If I delete this permission I'm getting an error here: https://github.com/code4romania/monitorizare-vot-android/blob/master/app/src/main/java/ro/code4/monitorizarevot/util/AuthUtils.java#L26
