The Cluster Overview panel (UI element at the top of this page) has a "suspect nodes" count that includes:

  • nodes with unavailable liveness status
  • nodes that are decommissioning (and not shut down)

However, the 20.1 Node List already has a separate DECOMMISSIONING status for the latter.

"Suspect" is a misleading term for nodes that are decommissioning normally. We could:

  • Come up with an alternate term for the Cluster Overview panel,
  • Include "decommissioning" node count in the Cluster Overview panel + a separate term for the other kind of "suspect" node (unavailable?)
