An active member is any member who has taken part in a club meeting, posted on the mailing list,or joined our IRC room within the last month.

While this is all fine and good I feel that membership is too liberal thus giving us too many members that are active. This may not seem to be a problem at first but then when we try to have a vote at the meetings and only a handful show up to the vote then nothing can get passed because not enough active members are there.

Changes that I would make:
For non-active membersip
Subscribed to our mailing list

For active membership
Attend 2 meetings within the month
Subscribed to our mailing list
Are active on our IRC channel (#cnulug on Freenode) (active being defined in as popping in once and a while)

👍 on giving some extra restrictions - just enough that we don't have more 'active members' than it takes to hold an election. Not sure about the individual points, but we definitely don't want to create a system where we're having to keep track of everyone who joined IRC for the last month in order to determine whether we have a quorum: that's obviously broken.
