It would be great if the lasersaber from this mod was compatible with reserved weapon slot. At the moment it just goes into the item bar.

You would probably want to tell the dev of that mod. I do have examples on the ReservedItemSlotCore mod's page on how mod devs can add their items into existing reserved item slots. Alternatively, you can add the item in yourself by adding it to the list of items in the ReservedWeaponSlot mod's config file.
