📃 Iteration 51 roadmap

This post outlines our targets for the upcoming iteration. The goal is to provide a summary of where we are going.

New features / enhancements

• Redesign and introduce a new reconversion system – merged 🎉
• Support for handling the <style> element in the General HTML Support feature – merged 🎉
• DLL-compatible package builds for collaboration features – merged 🎉
• Provide a solution for how to downcast a table to table>caption – merged 🎉
• Real-time collaboration support in revision history – merged 🎉
• Support for advanced lists (document lists) - this will span across a few iterations
• Replacement for the CKEditor 4's styles dropdown feature - this will span across a few iterations

Bug fixes

• Removing complex emojis doesn't work as expected – merged 🎉
• Preparing DLL package builds in the development mode (the --dev flag) ends with an error – merged 🎉
• Clicking content that has a comment causes content data change (resulting with extra autosave) – merged 🎉
• [React component] CKEditorContext component doesn't destroy properly – merged 🎉

Finally, some more bug fixes and minor improvements are planned for the 51st iteration. See the list of issues closed in the current iteration for more details.

Dates

The code freeze is planned for March 2nd, 2022, followed by releasing npm packages on March 9th, 2022.

Please keep in mind that these plans are subject to change, and even though we put all our energy into delivering all the items mentioned above, the iteration plan may change at any point.
